Progress on Edinburgh Innovation Hub Marks Exciting Milestone for East Lothian's Economic Future

Construction is progressing well on the Edinburgh Innovation Hub, a landmark project that will drive economic growth and create high-value jobs in East Lothian.

Located next to Queen Margaret University (QMU), the development will become a centre for innovation-led business growth. In addition, it will encourage collaboration between research, industry and academia.

The Hub features a modern design and flexible facilities. As a result, it will attract and support ambitious small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in sectors such as technology, life sciences and food and drink. Businesses will also benefit from tailored office and laboratory space that meets their changing needs.

Furthermore, the Hub will provide an environment where companies can innovate, grow and scale successfully. By bringing businesses and researchers together, it will create new opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange.

The project forms part of the Edinburgh and South East Scotland City Region Deal. Consequently, it represents a major investment in East Lothian's long-term future. It also reinforces the region's growing reputation as a key contributor to Scotland's economy.

Beyond creating jobs and supporting businesses, the Hub will play an important role in the wider Edinburgh Innovation Park development. For example, the broader vision includes new homes, community facilities and additional commercial opportunities. Together, these developments will create a thriving and connected business community.

This milestone demonstrates East Lothian's commitment to building a vibrant, innovation-led economy. Moreover, it strengthens the area's reputation as an attractive place to live, work and invest.

As construction continues, the project moves closer to completion in 2025. In the meantime, the Edinburgh Innovation Hub remains an exciting example of how investment, innovation and partnership can support sustainable economic growth across the region.
