East Lothian is home to a number of highly rated schools which play a key role in the community. Wallyford Learning Campus is a place where the people can learn, meet, and grow together. It comprises East Lothian’s newest secondary school, Rosehill High, with additional support needs specialist provision, and a bespoke Science, Technology, Arts and Maths Centre. In partnership with Edinburgh College the campus is delivering the Regional Construction Skills Academy to pipeline a skilled workforce for the industry.
Queen Margaret University specialises in healthcare, social sciences, creative arts, business, management and enterprise, and teaching, delivered from a modern campus conveniently situated in East Lothian and close to Edinburgh. East Lothian Council works in close partnership with the university across a range of initiatives including the Edinburgh Innovation Hub and Park, delivery of community wealth building and entrepreneurial and business services. The East Lothian Business Gateway service is a key partner in the Start-up Studio and has dedicated office space where students, staff, alumni and businesses can access support.
